ABOUT ME
Currently based in Los Angeles, but always returning home to Austin. I’m a cinematographer, Texas Native, and Hawaiian shirt enthusiast. I love to chase a good story and have found myself hiking 3D cameras through the White Sands desert with only moonlight to illuminate the path, loading 16mm in the trunk of a car to be ready for the perfect sunset, and teaching free film workshops to hundreds of people across the country.
Three things hang over my desk, Ross Gay’s poem Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, one of Ai Weiwei’s Sunflower Seeds, and a copy Robby Müller’s Polaroids.
I studied advertising and film at the University of Texas, specializing in cinematography and stereoscopic 3D filmmaking. I went on to earn my MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute, where I received the Tom Yoda Scholarship. For my AFI thesis film, The Witch Pricker & The Hare, I was awarded the ASC Student Heritage Award and received a finishing grant from Fotokem. In 2024, I was selected for the Talent Demo at Camerimage, and in 2025, I was named an ASC Vision Mentee and chosen by UTA as the cinematographer to represent The New Wave of emerging filmmakers.
In 2019 I Co-Founded Austin Cinematography Group along with Peter Simonite, ASC. As an organization, we aim to provide free education and training for those interested in the cinematic arts. If you’re ever interested in learning more about the camera department - feel free to reach out - I’m happy to chat and connect.
